A 40-year-old woman named Ngan T. Do was taken into custody on January 19, 2025, for stealing at the Walmart store situated at 1750 S. Broadway St. in Hopkins County, Texas. Law enforcement officers responded to a theft report and promptly arrived at the scene.

The police affidavit stated that Walmart Asset Protection staff noticed the suspect, Ngan T. Do, purposely skipping item scans at the register. Surveillance cameras captured Do placing unscanned items into bags and bypassing the final point of sale.

Officers approached Do and informed her of her Miranda Rights, to which she acknowledged and consented to speaking with them. As the investigation unfolded, Do confessed to purposefully bypassing the scanning process for certain items. The stolen merchandise amounted to a total value of $117.23. The officers managed to recover a receipt for the pilfered goods and promptly apprehended Do.

She was taken to the Hopkins County Jail and accused of stealing property worth between $100 and $750.
