Lady Raiders play in Chelan jamboree
December 6, 2022
At the Chelan High School Jamboree, Nov. 26, the Lady Raiders varsity team came in and crushed the opposition in their two ten minute games.
In their first game they beat Chelan 16-4. In their second game the Raiders beat Wenatchee 20-6.
“We did very well,” said team captain Carly Neddo, a junior, when asked how the jamboree went.
“The girls game came out as expected,” said Coach Melissa Meza. “We missed some lay-ups. We airballed a couple of shots, turned the ball over, and instead of boxing someone out we watched the ball go bounce around the rim. Those instances lasted about 2 minutes into their first game and within a matter the energy shifted. The first game jitters were out of the way.”
The Lady Raiders also plan on improving a lot this season.
Junior Cylia St. Pierre stated the team is focusing on especially improving on defense.
Offensively, Neddo noted the team will work on running plays.
“Improving on spacing, patience on offense, and moving their feet when defending on ball is going to be crucial for the Lady Raiders to improve their skill and overall approach to the game,” said Meza.
The girls start their season Dec. 3as they take on the Liberty Spangle Lancers at Liberty.
