Two Men Charged In $300k Theft Scheme Targeting Holmdel Company

Two individuals have been accused of masterminding a plot to pilfer almost $300,000 from a company in Holmdel, New Jersey. The alleged scheme involved a bogus pest control enterprise and the illicit use of stolen credit card details. Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago made the announcement on Tuesday.

Jacob Gindi, aged 33, from Ocean Township, and Jimmy Dabbah, aged 34, from Brooklyn, have been charged with a range of offenses, including second-degree computer theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and financial facilitation of criminal activity. The two individuals willingly surrendered themselves to the authorities earlier this week and have since been released on their own recognizance, awaiting further court proceedings.

In May 2023, Dabbah allegedly established an account with the victim company under the name Rapid Pest Control. Subsequently, within a span of 10 days, the company’s software and credit-card platform were utilized to carry out more than 750 fraudulent transactions, amounting to a staggering $296,000. After a thorough investigation, it was discovered that Rapid Pest Control did not provide any legitimate pest-control services. Furthermore, it was revealed that the majority of the stolen funds were directed towards two companies, PCO Marketing Inc. and Infinity Trading Solutions LLC, both of which were under Gindi’s control. The funds were purportedly used by Gindi for personal expenses, including credit-card payments, car-related expenses, and tuition bills.

When Dabbah surrendered to authorities, they discovered a hidden knife in his belt buckle during a security screening. This led to additional charges related to possessing a weapon. Both individuals are set to appear in Monmouth County Superior Court for their initial hearings on February 27th.
