It Starts With Us is a fiction romance novel by Colleen Hoover released October 18. When this book was released it immediately became Hoover’s new best selling book, getting over 2.5 million copies in just 2 months and 4.4 star rating on Google.

It ends with us is a heartbreaking tale about domestic abuse and violence with a heartbreakingly necessary ending. It ends with us tells us a little about the main character Lily’s past when she rereads an old journal she wrote when she was 16 to her favorite talk show host. 

It starts with us is told from the alternating perspectives of the two main characters, Atlas Corrigan and Lily Bloom. Lily deals with her chaotic life as a floral shop owner, single mom and co-parent with her ex-husband who cant seem to grasp the fact that they will never get back together. 

Atlas, who springs from Lily’s past, works to help Lily get through her traumatic experience, as he works as a chef in his own restaurant.

I started reading Hoover when I first found her book Ugly Love, and I couldn’t put it down, I loved her writing style and how she targets younger audiences and teaches them important life lessons from her own personal experiences. She has fun and easily read stories for people who are just starting to read or trying to get into reading. 

 I would suggest this book to young adults interested in reading romance novels.
