Lady Raiders bounce back from Liberty and beat Davenport Gorillas
December 14, 2022
After the Lady Raiders lost to the Liberty Spangle Lancers by a large margin, they came into the game against Davenport, Dec. 6, with the goal of playing with pride.
“We wanted to continue playing with our hearts,” said junior Carly Neddo.
The Lady Raiders 65-56 would go on to win against the Gorillas.
“We didn’t give up,” said Neddo.
Junior Sawyer Steffens said, “We needed to come out and work together as a team, and we did.”
“The only objective I shared with the girls is to play with their hearts,” said Coach Melissa Meza. “Due to such a huge defeat in the previous game, I wanted to see how they would bounce back. They were able to compete, maintain a sense of urgency, and they played with heart, it was a good win.”
The Lady Raiders would go on to beat Almira-Coulee-Hartline by a score of 49-43, Dec. 10, and they beat Liberty Bell by a score of 62-10, Dec. 13.
The Lady Raiders next play Brewster, Friday.
